Our client, Infra Optics Pty is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Technician to support its telecommunications operations across commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.
Tasks Include:
· Reviewing project drawings, network plans, specifications, and work instructions to determine installation requirements.
· Installing, configuring, commissioning, and maintaining telecommunications equipment, network devices, and associated infrastructure.
· Installing, terminating, jointing, and testing fibre optic and copper telecommunications cabling.
· Conducting fibre splicing, cable jointing, and enclosure installation in accordance with project specifications.
· Performing fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on telecommunications networks using specialised testing equipment.
· Testing network performance, signal strength, continuity, and transmission quality to ensure compliance with technical standards.
· Inspecting, repairing, replacing, and upgrading faulty telecommunications equipment, cabling systems, and network components.
· Installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment within pits, conduits, cabinets, exchange facilities, and customer premises.
· Assisting with NBN remediation, cable hauling, rod and roping activities, and network restoration works.
· Recording test results, maintenance activities, network faults, and completed works documentation.
· Liaising with supervisors and project teams to ensure work is completed according to project schedules and technical requirements.
· Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, industry standards, and telecommunications regulations.
Qualifications and other requirements
·Have a Certificate III qualification or higher in Data and Telecommunications or equivalent experience
·At least 1 year of experience as Telecommunications Technician in the last 5 years
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision
· Knowledge of metal properties, welding quality control, and industry standards
· Good physical condition and stamina to work in a fast-paced environment
· Strong safety focus and understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
