Join Our Sales & Distribution Team
Sydney Harbour Marriott is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Sales Coordinator to provide administrative, sales and operational support to our Sales & Distribution team. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys building client relationships, coordinating group business and ensuring exceptional guest experiences from enquiry through to post-event follow-up.
About the Role
You will support group reservations, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) and other group-related business. You will act as a key liaison between clients and hotel departments, helping to maximise revenue through effective coordination, upselling and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate group bookings, room blocks and rooming lists.
- Manage client enquiries and ensure responses within 24 hours.
- Prepare contracts, confirmations, invoices, resumes and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Support sales activities to achieve hotel revenue targets.
- Conduct site inspections for corporate clients, travel agents and event organisers.
- Coordinate internal communications and VIP guest requirements.
- Assist with forecasting, reporting and sales presentations.
- Support the upselling of accommodation, meeting spaces and food & beverage offerings.
- Maintain client databases, records and sales documentation.
- Attend sales and group meetings and provide administrative support, including meeting minutes.
About You
You are a motivated hospitality professional with:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A customer-focused approach and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Revenue and sales awareness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- The ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in hotel sales, reservations, events, front office or a related hospitality role.
- Qualifications in Hospitality, Tourism or Business (preferred).
- Experience with Marriott systems would be advantageous.
