The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education. Established in 2016, it oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the state introduced free public education in the 1870s. The Project Officer supports the effective administration of Non-Government School Grants programs, working across its entire life cycle from inception, launch, and assessment through to making payments, responding to enquiries, and assisting with monitoring the delivery of projects that have been awarded grants.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Non-Government School Grants Unit, the Project Officer supports the effective administration of Non-Government School Grants programs, working across its entire life cycle (from inception, launch, and assessment through to making payments, responding to enquiries, and assisting with monitoring the delivery of projects that have been awarded grants).
In consultation with Senior Project Officers, the Project Officer is responsible for supporting the effective operation of Non-Government School Grants Programs, including

Provide administrative support for the delivery of the programs.

Process all project management related tasks including milestone payments, variations, acquittals and follow-up as required.

Support and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Contributing to the preparation of accurate and informative briefing papers and media releases relating to the operation of the Non-Government School Grants programs.

Assist implementation of governance and business improvement processes.

Maintaining data/information management systems to ensure the accuracy and currency of information.

Attributes
Key components of this role include program and project management, stakeholder engagement and relationship management and program reporting. Candidates must have excellent administrative skills and strong attention to details. They must be able to coordinate tasks, determine priorities, monitor workflows and effectively operate as a team member to ensure the effective operation, management and delivery of the Non-Government School Grants programs. In addition, the candidate has demonstrated excellent stakeholder engagement skills which will be required to build and maintain strong relationships both within the Department and with external stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree any discipline

Demonstrated experience in similar role within government

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in Microsoft Power BI
