United by our Christian purpose and values, we advocate for a fairer Australia, to meet the growing needs of people across the country. Together we’re building hope and possibility for all.
Your Opportunity
Join Mission Australia’s Communities of Focus initiative in Whyalla, a place-based approach that works alongside HOPE Whyalla and local partners to strengthen community capacity, connection and long-term positive change. As part of a collaborative backbone team, you will play a key role in engaging young people, amplifying youth voice and supporting community led solutions that create meaningful outcomes for the Whyalla community. This is an onsite position where you will build strong relationships with young people, schools, youth services, community organisations and local stakeholders to foster participation, aspiration and collective action.
Working closely with youth advisory groups, community leaders and collaborative partners, you will co design and deliver projects that empower young people, strengthen connections between services and the community, and help create sustainable opportunities for youth to thrive. You will contribute to an innovative and evolving initiative focused on building local strengths, encouraging collaboration and supporting collective action that creates lasting community impact for young people across Whyalla.
Your Key Responsibilities:
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with young people, schools, youth services, community organisations and key stakeholders to encourage meaningful participation and engagement.

-
Support youth advisory groups and other youth led forums to ensure young people have a genuine voice in community decision making and local initiatives.
-

-
Facilitate collaboration between services, community groups and young people to improve access to opportunities and strengthen local networks.
-
Provide administrative and secretariat support including meeting coordination, agendas, minutes, reporting and project documentation.
-
Participate in HOPE Whyalla activities, Communities of Focus initiatives and cross team collaborations while contributing to community capacity building and sustainable youth outcomes.
