We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Sales to lead our sales function through its next stage of growth. Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience, you'll be responsible for building and continuously improving our sales strategy, operating model, systems and team capability to maximise sales performance while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You'll work closely with senior leaders across Customer Experience, Marketing, Product and Technology to ensure our sales function is scalable, data-driven and positioned to support Carma's ambitious growth plans.

Lead Carma's sales function to deliver strong conversion performance, sustainable growth and exceptional customer outcomes.
- Develop and execute sales strategies that maximise vehicle deliveries, conversion rates, finance penetration, trade-in uptake and customer satisfaction.
- Build and continuously improve the end-to-end sales journey, identifying opportunities to optimise customer engagement, sales processes and team effectiveness.
- Use data, reporting and customer insights to drive decision making, improve performance and uncover new growth opportunities.
- Design and refine sales operating models, team structures, incentive programs and performance frameworks that support scale.
- Partner closely with Marketing to improve lead quality, customer acquisition and full-funnel conversion performance.
- Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to enhance systems, workflows and sales productivity.
- Build, coach and develop a high-performing sales team through strong leadership, accountability and capability development.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging technology, automation, AI and best-practice sales methodologies.
- Act as a senior leader within the business, contributing to strategic planning, cross-functional initiatives and Carma's long-term growth objectives.
Essential
- 8+ years' experience in sales leadership roles with a proven track record of improving conversion performance and delivering strong commercial outcomes.
- Experience within B2C or B2SMB environments, particularly those involving shorter sales cycles and high-consideration purchases.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on, execution-focused leadership style.
- Demonstrated success designing and optimising sales operating models, performance frameworks, incentive structures and capability programs.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into action.
- Experience leading teams within fast-paced, high-growth, scale-up or startup environments.
- Exceptional coaching, leadership and performance management skills.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to align sales strategy to broader business objectives.
- Experience leveraging CRM platforms, sales technologies, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve performance and efficiency.
Highly Regarded
- Experience leading phone-based or inside sales teams of 15+ team members.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Technology teams to improve systems, workflows and operational effectiveness.
- Experience within automotive, finance, property, solar or other high-consideration purchasing environments.
- Experience working closely with Marketing teams to develop customer acquisition and conversion strategies.
