About the Role
We are seeking motivated Mining Engineers to join our technical services team across on a full time basis for several open-pit operations in the Northern Territory and Western Australia’s Goldfields region.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in short- to mid-term mine planning, scheduling, and drill & blast design. This is a high-impact position within a dynamic contractor environment where your work directly drives daily production and operational success.
Roster & Travel Options:
- 8/6 or 2/2 rosters available
- FIFO from Perth or Darwin, or DIDO from Kalgoorlie
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Scheduling: Develop and execute rolling weekly and monthly excavator plans, production schedules, and dig/dump maps for frontline supervisors.
- Drill & Blast Design: Complete practical drill and blast designs aligned with weekly/monthly operational targets.
- Operational Execution: Coordinate plans with site teams, monitor progress against benchmarks, and communicate design changes seamlessly.
- Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and operational summaries.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict compliance with site Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards, statutory requirements, and legislative guidelines.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to standardise technical processes and implement innovative, value-add solutions across site operations.
About You
- Qualification: Degree in Mining Engineering (or a closely related technical discipline).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in open-pit technical roles (gold exposure is highly regarded).
- Technical Proficiency: Proven capability in industry-standard software (e.g., Deswik and Alastri Suite).
- Skills: Strong short- to medium-term planning capability, solid organizational skills, and clear stakeholder communication.
- Statutory Qualifications: A Quarry Manager Certificate is highly desirable. (If you don't hold one yet, MMS can actively support and mentor you through achieving this qualification).
- Mindset: A proactive, "can-do" approach with a passion for collaborative site work and client engagement.
