About the Opportunity
The Manager, Data Science and Insights drives innovation by leading the Institute's Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics capability, establishing strategic direction, governance, standards and workforce development to support cancer control priorities across NSW and the NSW Public Health System.
Essential Criteria
-
Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience computer science, AI, machine learning or a related discipline.

Extensive technical expertise in Data Science, AI, machine learning, statistical modelling and modern data platforms, with demonstrated ability to apply these capabilities to solve real-world problems in complex environments.

Demonstrated experience leading complex Data Science, AI or Advanced Analytics initiatives from concept to implementation, including delivery of measurable organisational or business outcomes.

Proven ability to influence, collaborate and build consensus across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders with competing priorities, including where there is no direct reporting relationship or shared objectives.

Demonstrated experience translating complex business challenges into practical analytical solutions and providing expert advice that informs strategic and operational decision-making.

Demonstrated experience building organisational capability, establishing governance and promoting best practice in the responsible use of data, analytics and AI, including developing people, standards and sustainable ways of working.

Advanced oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, consultation and presentation skills.

The Manager, Data Science and Insights is responsible for developing capability, governance and best practice across a complex organisational environment. Describe a capability, governance framework, standard, community of practice, or way of working that you have successfully established or significantly improved. What problem were you trying to solve, how did you bring people on the journey, and what evidence demonstrated success?
