About the role
We’re hiring a patient, fun and reliable support worker to assist children with Intellectual Disability and Autism at home, school/kinder and in the community. You’ll help with daily routines, safe outings, simple activities and supervision—always child-centred and respectful.
What you’ll do
- Support children with personal routines, safety and community access
- Engage kids in play, social interaction and everyday skills
- School pick up and drop off
- Drive to sessions across Melbourne (and supervise during outings)
- Keep brief shift notes and communicate clearly with families and our team
- Work some weekends (higher penalty rates apply)
- Genuine interest in working with kids; patient and positive attitude
- Experience with children with Intellectual Disability and Autism (formal or informal)
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011 or equivalent) and Working With Children Check (VIC)
- Valid driver’s licence; comfortable driving around Melbourne
- Reliable, punctual, and professional boundaries
- Full working rights in Australia
Nice to have
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Own insured vehicle (KM reimbursement per policy)
Location
Melbourne metro (eastern suburbs base; travel required).
