What you'll do
As the Advanced Workforce Officer (Identified), you will use your advanced allied health expertise and clinical reasoning to drive workforce and service delivery initiatives that support the future of healthcare in Queensland. You will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of statewide strategies and projects focused on workforce capacity, clinical education, research, digital innovation and leadership, including the allied health component of the Growing Deadly Families Strategy in partnership with the Office of the Chief Midwifery Officer. Drawing on your specialist knowledge of First Nations health workforce issues, you will provide leadership in building cultural capability and shaping workforce strategies that deliver meaningful outcomes. You will represent Queensland Health in consultation, negotiation and partnership activities with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including professional associations, educational institutions, registration authorities and industrial organisations. In addition, you will develop high-quality reports, submissions, plans and communication materials, and provide authoritative advice to senior leaders and stakeholders on complex and sensitive workforce planning, service delivery, clinical education, research, digital innovation and leadership matters.
The successful person
The essential requirements for this role are:
The person performing this role is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
An Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a person who identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is either:
of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; or
accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which he or she lives.
A formal qualification in an eligible Health Practitioner Profession (as listed in the Health Practitioners and Dental Officers (Queensland Health Certified Agreement) from a recognised tertiary institution which will permit registration with the relevant professional registration board, or eligibility for membership/accreditation with a professional association.
Demonstrated high level community consultations skills and ability to engage with First Nations communities, families, health services and stakeholders.
Demonstrated high level knowledge of Health Practitioner disciplines and experience in health service delivery and workforce projects that contribute to improved health outcomes of First Nations peoples
Demonstrated high level knowledge and ability to manage successful outcomes in complex projects and initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to provide authoritative advice to senior management on a range of complex workforce planning and research issues.
