Lead complex nationally significant Land Defence projects that deliver national sovereign capability
Saab is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex Land Defence program, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with Defence customers, Industry partners, engineering teams and other key stakeholders, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams to plan, coordinate and deliver project outcomes across the full project lifecycle. In this pivotal role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team across engineering and project management to establish and operate the Systems Integration Laboratory.

The Role
As Systems Integration Laboratory Project Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for project delivery, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and customer satisfaction. You'll provide leadership to cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, oversee project governance and ensure contractual commitments are successfully achieved.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the planning and delivery of complex Land Defence projects from initiation through to operational outcomes.
Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks and contract variations to achieve successful delivery.
Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial, finance and project functions.
Build trusted relationships with Defence customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Monitor project performance, manage project controls and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
Drive continuous improvement, proactive risk management and delivery against agreed project milestones.
Ensure Defence customer requirements are met and validated during the required updates and deliverables.
About you
You are an experienced Project Manager who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is recognised for your ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders and deliver results.
You will bring:
Proven experience delivering Defence or complex engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of project governance, scheduling, risk management and project controls.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and engaging with Defence customers and industry partners.
Commercial acumen, including experience with contracts, financial management and project reporting.
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM/CSSR) or similar project performance frameworks.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or Business.
Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM CPPM) accreditation or equivalent (highly regarded).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
