Exalt’d Automotive is looking for an experienced Senior / Head Mechanic to join our team in Nunawading.
We are an established independent workshop working across European, prestige, performance and modern vehicles such as EVs and hybrids, and we're looking for a highly capable technician who can take ownership of more complex mechanical and diagnostic work while helping maintain a high standard across the workshop.
The Role
As our Senior / Head Mechanic, your work will include:
- General servicing and mechanical repairs
- Advanced fault finding and diagnostics
- Timing belt and timing chain replacement
- Engine timing and timing-related diagnosis
- Engine repairs and mechanical rebuild work
- Cooling system repairs
- Brake, suspension and steering repairs
- Driveline and transmission-related repairs
- Electrical and diagnostic fault finding
- European and prestige vehicle repairs
- Pre-purchase and general vehicle inspections
- Identifying immediate and future repair requirements
- Assisting other technicians with difficult diagnostic or mechanical jobs
- Checking completed work and maintaining workshop quality standards
- Working closely with the Workshop Manager to keep jobs moving efficiently
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop environment
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Automotive Technician / Motor Mechanic
- Experience with timing chains and engine/transmission electronics rebuilding a bonus
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Experience carrying out major mechanical repairs
- Ability to confidently handle complex jobs without constant supervision
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Ability to guide and assist less experienced technicians
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Current Victorian driver's licence
- Roadworthy Licence, Air Conditioning licence and EV experience very welcome
- Reliable and professional attitude
Experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche and other European vehicles will be highly regarded.
Experience with advanced diagnostics, auto electrical, EV/hybrid systems or performance vehicles would also be an advantage.
