Position: Speech Therapist (Contract / Part-time) at Willows Speech & Occupational Therapy
Are you a compassionate and skilled speech therapist ready to make a real difference? Or perhaps you’re a newly-qualified clinician eager to launch your career in a supportive, flexible environment. Join our wonderful team at Willows Speech & Occupational Therapy, where you’ll play a key role in improving the lives of children and supporting families.
About Us
At Willows, we’re a dedicated, young, friendly team committed to delivering exceptional paediatric therapy. We work with children aged 18 months to 17 years, specialising in autism, feeding therapy, speech & language, social communication and developmental delay. We collaborate closely with families to provide personalised, holistic care that empowers children and parents alike.
What We Offer
- A warm, close-knit and fun team culture with regular team-bonding events and a strong emphasis on your wellbeing.
- A dedicated admin team who organise your appointments and invoices, so you can focus on what you do best: therapy.
- Flexible scheduling — you choose your start time (not a morning person? No problem!)
- A specially designed New Graduate Program, providing mentorship, support and growth opportunities for early-career clinicians.
- Access to extensive resources, continuing education, and a personal development budget to enhance your clinical skills.
- Opportunities for professional growth: observe senior clinicians, debrief between sessions, collaborate with a vibrant interdisciplinary team, and build your own niche.
Your Role
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans tailored to each child’s needs and goals.
- Deliver fun, engaging group sessions (e.g., Lego groups, functional cooking skills, school-readiness, social skill groups).
- Empower families and caregivers with strategies to support their child’s development at home and in everyday settings.
- Provide services both in-clinic and (optionally) in community settings such as preschools or schools.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client progress, assessments and treatment plans.
- Collaborate closely with other therapists, educators and caregivers to ensure a holistic, team-based approach.
- Demonstrate strong organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills; you’ll work autonomously as well as part of a team.
About You
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current membership (or eligible for) Speech Pathology Australia (Certified Practising Speech Pathologist preferred).
- Experience working with children (especially those with additional needs) is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- A clear understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and working collaboratively with families from diverse cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check, driver’s licence and own vehicle.
- Eligible for a Medicare Provider Number.
