Primary objective
Deliver professional front office services including providing financial and administrative support to the Business Manager, the
Principal and teaching staff, students and parents in a busy and demanding school environment.
Context Statement
Humpty Doo Primary School is located in Darwin’s rural area. The school is a large primary school with an enrolment of
approximately 450 students, ranging from Preschool to Year 6. The All Stars is a Special Education Centre on site that caters for
students with moderate to severe intellectual disability or multiple disabilities with high support needs. The student population
reflects the diversity of our community with 25% identifying as Indigenous, 13% as English as a Second Language/Dialect and 50%
are identified as Students with Disability. The school has a strong focus on wellbeing and embeds the Berry Street Education Model
within teaching and learning programs. The school adopts collaborative planning and implements a science of learning approach,
including explicit instruction, across all curriculum areas and sectors of the school.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Perform word processing, data entry, administrative and other tasks as directed by the Business Manager.
2. Deliver professional front office reception duties including answering calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments and
providing information to the wider school community.
3. Perform data entry and retrieval of data from the Student Administration Management System and other school data systems,
to ensure the integrity and currency of all manual and computerised student records.
4. Support the Business Manager with processing of purchase orders, goods receipts, processing invoices, and accounts
payable and receivable, banking and elements of Payroll processing in CiAnywhere.
5. Provide administrative support to the front office, the Principal, leadership team, teaching staff and other relevant tasks as
directed by the Business Manager or Principal.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing a range of school administrative functions and the use of various school office systems
and applications such as Student Administration Management System, CiAnywhere, MYOB, SeeSaw, GradeXpert, Xuno,
Passtab, Student Master Index, Oliver Junior for Library, Canva, excel spreadsheets, Business Intelligence Centre and Age
Grade Census for reporting.
2. Demonstrated experience in the management of cash, eftpos and purchasing including reconciling, receipting and banking
monies in accordance with policies and processes.
3. Proven ability to develop and maintain working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse
cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
5. Ability to monitor own performance and tasks against expected outcomes, deadlines, whilst in a busy, fast-paced work
environment.
6. Proven ability to work in a team and maintain integrity and confidentiality.
