The Role:
As assistant or 2IC to the Practice Manager, you will work and contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Practice including supporting Reception; and assist the Practice Manager in tasks as well as motivating staff. The 2IC should have the leadership traits and knowledge to step into the Practice Manager role to cover during periods of absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day to day operation, management and direction of the reception desk, including actively participating in reception duties
- Medical: Assist in supporting GPs and nurses to achieve best patient outcomes.
- Financial: Assist in monitoring billing and overdue payment recovery, as well as Medicare compliance;
- General Duties and Record Keeping;
- Ability to step into and cover Practice Manager role as and when required
- Additional Duties as required/assigned by Practice Manager.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a senior medical administration role; working with and supervising, or, managing staff;
- Ability to provide high standard reception and administrative support
- Strong understanding of general practice operations and Medicare billing
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a busy environment;
- Flexible with hours and days of work - ability to work at least 3 days per week in role
- Ability to assist PM in the management and/or financial performance of the Practice
Relevant:
- Knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)
- Experience or knowledge with medical practice software (Best Practice)
Desirable:
CPR and triage training and/or experience
