About the Role
Levett Engineering are a high-performance precision machining business delivering complex components and assemblies into aerospace and defence programs.
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, performance, and continuous operation of CNC machinery and equipment within a high-precision manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine, preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.
Working closely with production teams and external service providers, the Maintenance Technician will diagnose faults, conduct repairs, manage critical spare parts, and ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently in accordance with operational and quality standards.
Your Day | Your Week
Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on CNC machinery, tooling, and associated manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults on CNC machines to minimise production downtime.
Coordinate with OEMs, machine suppliers, and external maintenance providers to ensure major servicing activities are completed in accordance with maintenance schedules.
Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance programs and schedules for all CNC machinery and supporting equipment.
Manage and maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and consumables to support preventative maintenance activities and reduce equipment downtime.
Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring of machinery, tooling, and plant equipment to identify potential issues before failures occur.
Accurately complete maintenance records, work orders, service reports, and equipment history documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, company procedures, and regulatory obligations.
Maintain a safe, organised, and clean work environment always.

Essential Skills | Qualifications
Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience maintaining CNC machinery and manufacturing equipment within a production environment.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
Sound understanding of preventative maintenance principles and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage competing demands.
Desirable Skills | Qualifications
Experience managing or working within a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Exposure to multi-axis CNC machining centres, robotics, automated equipment, or aerospace manufacturing environments.
Basic understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
Forklift, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), or confined space qualifications.
