About the opportunity
The Support Services Department is responsible for the safe delivery of quality, evidence based, best practice Operational Services (cleaning, patient porterage/support, linen and environmental services) service delivery across the Townsville University Hospital and designated facilities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
Please note - Applicants must be willing and able to work various shifts 24/07.
There are both permanent full time and part-teim positions available (hours variable).
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Ability to a deliver quality service, displaying honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, visitors and staff.
Technical skills (not requiring trade or equivalent qualifications) are required in order to safely and effectively operate basic machinery to perform routine and standard functions, and organise duties across a working day to meet regular work load requirements.
Ability to perform non-repetitive tasks governed by established procedures, specific guidelines and standardised instructions.
Ability to work as an effective and productive team member and with minimal supervision.
Perform of a range of basic cleaning duties to maintain the facility environment as per the Qld Health Cleaning Services policy, standards and operational guidelines.
Perform a range of basic patient handling services; patient transfers.
Role requirements
The Support Services Department provides a service within the Hospital across a seven (7) day period. The successful candidate to this position may be required to participate in shift work/continuous shift work including early, late and night work as well as work on public holidays.
Note: Rosters and Work areas can be subject to change.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

Salary range: $2445.70 - $2609.30 p.f. / $32.18 - $34.33 p.h. (OO2)
