About the Role
Reporting to the Finance & Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, payroll operations and statutory compliance across our Australian and New Zealand businesses.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including credit control, cash flow management and customer/supplier administration.
- Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, journals and month-end/year-end reporting activities.
- Analyse revenue, margins and business performance to support commercial decision-making.
- Manage statutory compliance, including BAS lodgements and audit requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and controls.
- Mentor junior team members and provide support across Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
Payroll Management
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand employees.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment obligations.
- Maintain payroll records, manage employee lifecycle changes and respond to payroll enquiries.
- Coordinate payroll reconciliations, audits, statutory reporting and year-end obligations.
- Support payroll system enhancements and process improvements.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements and company policies.
- Maintain strong financial controls, accuracy and confidentiality across all finance and payroll activities. Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, business projects and strategic objectives.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and payroll administration
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll, taxation and superannuation requirements
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel capability
Highly Regarded
- CA or CPA qualification
- Experience with Dynamics Business Central, MYOB Payroll, Concur Expense and Factorial HRIS
- Experience with multi-state Australian and New Zealand payrolls
- Exposure to multi-currency accounting and divisional reporting
- Experience within aviation, engineering, maintenance or professional services industries
