Como Garden is an established Chinese restaurant located in Como, Western Australia, specialising in traditional yum cha (dim sum), authentic Chinese cuisine and refined seafood dishes. With spacious indoor dining, private dining rooms and alfresco seating, we provide both casual and group dining experiences, including à la carte dining, banquet services, takeaway and special functions.
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and lead our service team in delivering efficient, professional and consistently high-quality dining experiences.
About the Role
As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the restaurant's day-to-day operations across both front-of-house and back-of-house functions, including customer service, staffing, rostering, kitchen and service coordination, stock and cost control, functions, reservations and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with the chefs and management team, you will oversee service delivery, staffing, rostering, kitchen and service coordination, stock and cost control, functions, reservations and compliance to ensure efficient restaurant operations and consistently high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the restaurant’s day-to-day operations across front-of-house and back-of-house functions, ensuring efficient workflow and consistent service standards.
- Plan menus and service offerings in consultation with chefs and management, taking into account customer preferences, pricing and operational requirements.
- Plan and organise banquets, private dining, group bookings and special functions, including staffing and service arrangements.
- Arrange and monitor the purchasing of food, beverages and restaurant supplies in accordance with stock requirements, quality standards and budget.
- Monitor stock levels, food and beverage costs, wastage and relevant financial transactions, and maintain appropriate operational records.
- Plan staff rosters, allocate duties, and recruit, train and supervise front-of-house and relevant kitchen staff to meet operational requirements.
- Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service flow, menu availability, dietary requirements and service priorities.
- Ensure dining, kitchen and service areas are clean, functional and presentable and comply with applicable food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Manage reservations and customer flow, assess customer satisfaction, respond to feedback and resolve service issues professionally.
- Review restaurant procedures and service standards and implement operational improvements in consultation with management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- At least one year of experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a comparable restaurant management role.
- Several years of hospitality experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house coordination, staffing, rostering, stock control and customer service.
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment, including weekends and public holidays as required.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills will be highly regarded.
