About the role:
The Project Management – Practice Manager (VPS6) is a strategic Enterprise Project Management Office role responsible for embedding consistent project delivery practices across Victoria Police and improving how projects are governed and delivered. The role leads frameworks, standards and assurance activities, providing oversight of project performance, risks and interdependencies, and working closely with senior leaders, practice managers and project teams to support alignment to organisational priorities and delivery outcomes. Key initiatives include project assurance reviews, stage gate assessments and capability uplift to strengthen consistent, effective delivery.

Your duties will include:
- Establish and embed enterprise project management practices (including standards, tools and templates) and the project management capability within the organisation.

Identify and report on projects and programs at risk to the appropriate governance.

Working with leadership to define prioritisation of the projects across the organisation

Work with project managers and stakeholders to provide advice and guidance to strengthen planning, delivery and reporting practices

Lead assurance activities such as project reviews and quality checks to support consistent delivery outcomes

Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to support consistent and effective project management practices
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Proven project and program management experience in successful delivery of projects and programs.

Ability to apply a portfolio-wide perspective to identify risks, dependencies and priorities, and support successful project delivery.

Strong ability to assure project performance, including reviewing scope, risks, scheduling and reporting to support effective decision-making.

Proven experience leading project assurance activities, including reviews and quality checks to improve delivery outcomes.

Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive consistent project management practices across teams.
< li>Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability to assess business cases, investment papers and benefits realisation assumptions and provide strategic recommendations.-

This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
