The Armadale Primary School P&C Association is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and dedicated Canteen Manager to take the lead in running our school canteen.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and is passionate about providing healthy, nutritious and appealing food choices for our students and staff. The successful applicant will play an important role in creating a welcoming canteen that is a valued part of our school community.
About the Role
As Canteen Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the canteen, including food preparation and service, ordering and stock control, coordinating volunteers, cleaning, food safety and basic financial management.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, proactive and well organised, with the ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure during busy periods. You will take pride in your work, have a positive attitude and be confident working both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in hospitality, catering, food service or a similar environment.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Friendly and professional communication and customer service skills.
- Physically capable of undertaking the manual requirements of the role.
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Current Food Handler Training.
- Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Desirable
- All About Allergens training.
- Experience with the WA School Canteen Association (WASCA) Traffic Light System.
- Experience with stock management, ordering and basic financial processes.
