What’s the role?
As part of Group Audit, you will play an important role in supporting strong consumer credit risk management across Westpac. You will assess lending portfolio performance, review the effectiveness of risk practices, and identify opportunities to strengthen outcomes. In doing so, you will help support sustainable growth, sound risk management and regulatory compliance.
This is a permanent role based in Sydney, with flexible hybrid working arrangements. We also welcome applications from interstate candidates.
What do I need?
- Extensive experience in financial services, with strong end‑to‑end knowledge of consumer credit risk across policy, decisioning, portfolio strategy and performance
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to assess control effectiveness and emerging risks to portfolio quality and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated ability to lead, prioritise and deliver outcomes, supported by clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement
- Well- developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence outcomes without formal authority
- Advanced analytical capability, including the ability to interpret large datasets and generate insights using tools such as SQL, SAS, Tableau or Power BI are advantageous
- Sound understanding of Australian credit risk regulatory frameworks and experience in automated credit decisioning are desirable
