We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our Sydney or Melbourne office in a newly created role, supporting one of our Business Development Managers. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your BD career within a high-performing and collaborative team, while contributing to the growth of two key practice groups: Cyber, Data & Technology (CDT) and Property, Energy & Infrastructure (PE&I).
Working closely with partners, lawyers and the broader BD team, you’ll support a range of business development and marketing initiatives, helping to drive client engagement, profile-raising activities and strategic growth. You'll join a supportive and close-knit team that values initiative, creativity and working together to deliver great outcomes.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Partner with the BD Manager, Product Line Leaders and Partners to implement Product Line and Focus Group plans, including client, BD and marketing initiatives
- Support partner business planning and quarterly check‑ins, including development of management reports and alignment to SMART objectives
- Work closely with the Managing Partner, Asia on priority regional initiatives, including support for Singapore and Thailand offices
- Contribute to Product Line‑led and firmwide pitches and proposals, including capability statements, proposals, master decks and marketing collateral
- Maintain and curate libraries of capability statements, proposals, case studies and credentials, ensuring timely capture in the CRM
- Collaborate with BD, Marcomms and Events teams to deliver thought leadership, campaigns and events across Tier 1, 2 and 3 activities
- Share market intelligence and insights with the broader BD team, connecting opportunities to Product Line and group growth plans
- Champion CRM best practice, data integrity and internal engagement, including onboarding support and sharing wins across the firm
About you
- You have a minimum of three years’ experience in business development within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- You’re an effective communicator, confident in articulating ideas and engaging with senior partners, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Proactive and detail oriented, you anticipate opportunities, identify areas for improvement, and consistently add value through your work.
- You thrive in managing multiple priorities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you enjoy building positive working relationships within teams, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every project.
- You are experienced with CRM systems, maintaining data integrity and using market intelligence to inform business development activities.
- Your ability to adapt to evolving priorities and translate strategy into action makes you a trusted and effective partner within the team.
- You are passionate about business development and eager to contribute to a high performing and supportive environment.
