As Assistant Manager, Marketing & Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand voice, expanding our market presence, and managing key relationships. You will bridge the gap between creative storytelling and structured execution—driving impactful PR campaigns, managing media/influencer relations, and executing critical marketing administration and promotional rollouts for our retail partners. WHAT YOU DO:
- Retail Partner Marketing & Events
- Retailer Alignment: Serve as a key administrative point of contact for retail partners to coordinate trade marketing, VM and instore execution within the required launch timelines.
- Co-Op Marketing Coordination: Administer and execute joint marketing initiatives, ensuring brand assets, imagery, and promotional collateral are delivered to retail partners according to strict brand guidelines and deadlines.
- New Product Setup: Manage the end-to-end administration for new product setups with retailers, including compiling matrix sheets, barcodes, pricing, and product descriptions.
- Visual Merchandising & POS Support: Coordinate the execution with global for the update to our Visual merchandising strategy, and measure effectiveness of updates on retail performance.
- Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of brand activations, retailer-exclusive events, product launch trainings, artistry masterclasses.
- Communications& Influencer Strategy
- Media Relations: Pitch story ideas, press releases and assets, and product launches to our agency in liaison with our Australian beauty editors, journalists, and top-tier publications. Champion Hourglass Cosmetics as the leader in the complexion category.
- Influencer Management: Identify, onboard, and maintain relationships with content creators, makeup artists, and brand ambassadors. Manage product seeding and paid collaborations with our global team and local agency.
- PR Performance reporting: Monitor, track, and report on all PR coverage, social mentions, and retail campaign ROI.
- General Brand Support& Administration
- Campaign Coordination: Help execute the brand annual marketing calendar, ensuring product launches roll out seamlessly across direct-to-consumer (DTC) and retail channels.
- Event Management: Supporting the planning, preparation and execution of our localized brand strategy through PR, Media and Influencer events.
- General Marketing duties: Managing day-to-day administrative duties to support marketing activities – Eg. Booking couriers, product display set ups, capturing & sharing key notes in relevant meetings, updating the brand annual calendar with changes in retailer & brand activity.
- Market Research: Staying ahead of Australian and global beauty trends, competitor movements, and retail innovations to identify new growth opportunities and sharing these back with the business.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a Marketing and/or PR role, ideally within the beauty, fashion, FMCG, or lifestyle industries. Experience dealing with retail marketing teams is highly regarded.
- Network: An existing network of Australian beauty media, journalists, and digital influencers is desirable.
- Administrative & Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with sharp attention to detail. You must be comfortable managing spreadsheets, asset folders, and strict retailer deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Superb written and verbal communication skills with a knack for professional partner management and brand storytelling.
- Tools & Platforms: Proficiency with PR tracking tools (e.g., CreatorIQ/NextGen, Flaunter), retail vendor portals, Excel/Google Sheets. Excellent use of PowerPoint or Canva to create presentations, amend existing presentations and capture key data points from excel reporting.
