We're looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our Technology team and help build, maintain and continually improve the infrastructure platforms that support both our corporate operations and live event environments.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the IT Manager and working under the technical direction of the Platform Engineering Lead, you'll play a key role in implementing, maintaining and improving the technology platforms that underpin the organisation.
You'll work across infrastructure, cloud, identity, networking, endpoint management and venue technology, ensuring our platforms remain secure, resilient and highly available.
This is a hands-on technical role where you'll have the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure modernisation, automation, cybersecurity improvements and platform standardisation while supporting one of Australia's most dynamic technology environments.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Building, configuring and maintaining infrastructure platforms across cloud, networking, identity, endpoint and venue technologies
Implementing standard platform designs and engineering best practices
Maintaining platform reliability through proactive monitoring, patching, upgrades and lifecycle management
Implementing and maintaining security controls while supporting vulnerability remediation and security improvement initiatives
Developing automation that improves deployment consistency, operational efficiency and platform reliability
Providing Level 3 technical support for complex infrastructure and platform incidents
Supporting root cause analysis and implementation of permanent technical solutions
Preparing and validating technology platforms supporting live event delivery
Developing and maintaining technical documentation, standards, runbooks and knowledge articles
Contributing to the ongoing evolution of GCCEC's technology platforms and engineering standards
ABOUT YOU
You're an experienced infrastructure or platform engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and takes pride in delivering secure, reliable and well-engineered technology solutions.
You have strong technical capability but also understand the value of documentation, standards, automation and continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:
Experience implementing and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and platforms
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft endpoint technologies
Strong networking knowledge including switching, routing, wireless and network segmentation in enterprise, service provider or campus environments
Experience implementing security controls and supporting cybersecurity best practice
Experience with scripting or automation technologies such as PowerShell or similar tools will be highly regarded
Experience with backup and disaster recovery platforms
Experience supporting high-availability, hospitality, venue or event environments will be highly regarded
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Security or ITIL are all well regarded
