We are seeking a Tenancy Advocate to join our team on a full-time basis in Karratha, supporting individuals and families with tenancy advice, advocacy and court support.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping people understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities, navigate challenges, resolve disputes and access the support they need.

About the Role
As a Tenancy Advocate, you will:

Provide practical tenancy information, advice and advocacy to clients.
- Support renters to understand their rights and responsibilities under WA tenancy legislation.
- Assist clients to navigate tenancy disputes, notices, applications and dispute resolution processes.
- Provide court support and advocacy for clients attending tenancy-related proceedings.
- Help clients communicate effectively with landlords and property managers.
- Assist with tenancy-related forms, documentation and processes.
- Develop practical plans with clients to address and resolve tenancy issues.
- Connect clients with appropriate services, including legal, homelessness, financial and community supports.
- Maintain accurate case notes, client records and documentation.
- Build positive relationships with local services and community organisations.
- Participate in training, supervision and professional development.
What We’re Looking For
You will be someone who:
-
Has experience in advocacy, community services, tenancy, casework, legal support or a related field.
- Communicates clearly and confidently with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Can remain calm and professional when supporting people experiencing challenging circumstances.
- Is organised, adaptable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Has a strong commitment to social justice, client rights and empowering people to advocate for themselves.
- Is willing to learn and develop their knowledge of WA tenancy legislation and processes.
Experience in tenancy, advocacy or court support is highly regarded, but training and support will be provided to the right person.

Essential Criteria:

Ability to travel across the Pilbara, including overnight stays
- Working rights within Australia
- Current Western Australian Driver's License, Class 3.
- National Police Clearance
- Current Working with Children Check required
