Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Production & Supply Chain Manager to join our team, based predominantly at our Hawthorn East head office, with travel and attendance required, at one day per week at minimum, to our Warehouse located in Tarneit.
This is a senior operational role with a strong offshore production and commercial focus, responsible for leading the end-to-end production, supplier, costing, logistics and warehouse process for Viktoria & Woods. The role ensures product is delivered on time, to brand cost and quality standards and in line with the commercial needs of the business. Additionally, the role will be responsible for freight strategy, landed cost, margin protection and supply chain commercial efficiency.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a team that includes production and warehouse operations and work cross-functionally with design, buying, merchandising, planning, finance and retail/eCommerce.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Production Management: Manage the full production lifecycle from development handover through to bulk delivery, owning critical path management, factory delivery performance and production tracking across all suppliers, categories and delivery windows.
Supplier & Factory Management: Build and manage strong, accountable relationships with predominantly offshore factories, as well as local factories, mills, trim suppliers and freight partners. Negotiate commercially strong outcomes on pricing, payment terms, delivery timing and production efficiencies. Drive supplier performance through scorecards, seasonal reviews and corrective action where required.
Costing, Margin & Commercial Efficiency: Own and challenge product costings across all cost components - fabric, trims, CMT, freight, duty, packaging and handling - to ensure margins are protected. Identify and address margin leakage across product, supplier, freight and production processes, and ensure the business has accurate landed-cost visibility before final buys are placed.
Freight, Logistics & Warehouse: Take strategic ownership of freight and logistics, driving cost reduction, improving consolidation and minimising unnecessary air freight, split shipments and poor carton utilisation. Oversee warehouse operations, working closely with the Warehouse Manager, to ensure efficient inbound stock flow, receipting and dispatch in support of trade calendars, retail drops and eCommerce fulfilment.
Quality Control & Risk Management: Ensure quality standards are clearly communicated and maintained across all suppliers. Implement supplier scorecards and drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, cost and communication.
Skills and Experiences:
YOU WILL BRING:
Proven experience in production and supply chain management within fashion, apparel or premium retail, with a primary focus on offshore manufacturing.
Demonstrated experience managing offshore production and other key sourcing markets, including direct factory relationships and buying agent management.
Strong commercial costing skills across fabric, trims, CMT, freight, duty and landed cost, with the ability to identify margin leakage and challenge supplier cost increases.
Proven ability to manage and improve freight and logistics outcomes, including reducing air freight reliance, improving consolidation and controlling freight spend.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate with suppliers and achieve commercial outcomes on pricing, payment terms and delivery.
Experience managing production critical paths, delivery calendars and supplier performance.
Experience leading or managing a warehouse or logistics team, or demonstrated ability to step into this accountability.
Commercially minded with a strong sense of margin accountability and the ability to identify cost and process inefficiencies.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to escalate issues early and work collaboratively across multiple functions.
Strong Excel and reporting skills with experience working with production or inventory management systems.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or a related field is preferred but not essential.
WE WILL OFFER YOU:
