About the role
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Marketing is responsible for defining and executing Oporto’s end-to-end brand, menu and customer strategy to drive sales growth and strengthen brand position. The role leads a team of 7 and partners closely with Franchisees, Operations and our Shared Services to deliver outstanding outcomes.
You will own the full marketing ecosystem and are the ultimate brand custodian, ensuring The Portuguese Way lives across all touchpoints. From brand strategy and campaign development through to menu innovation, digital channels and customer lifecycle you’ll ensure every initiative drives both brand equity and commercial performance. This is a critical leadership role with direct accountability for sales growth and the future trajectory of the Oporto brand.
Key Activities Include:
Brand Strategy and Growth
- Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy to strengthen the Oporto brand and support sustainable business growth.
- Plan and deliver marketing activity that increases customer visits, improves brand awareness, and drives revenue across all channels.
- Ensure all campaigns and initiatives are consistent with the Oporto brand and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to align marketing priorities with broader business goals.
Menu and Product Leadership
- Oversee the development and evolution of the menu, including new product launches, value offers, and promotional activities.
- Ensure menu decisions are guided by customer preferences, operational realities, and commercial performance.
- Collaborate with operations and supply teams to bring new products to market successfully across the restaurant network.
- Continuously review menu performance and identify opportunities to improve sales and customer appeal.
Customer Experience and Marketing Channels
- Shape how customers experience the Oporto brand across all touchpoints, including in-restaurant, digital, and delivery platforms.
- Lead the use of customer insights and performance data to inform marketing decisions and identify growth opportunities.
- Oversee all marketing channels including advertising, digital platforms, loyalty programs, and social media.
- Ensure marketing activity is well integrated and delivers a consistent and effective customer experience.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing marketing team, fostering a strong culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Build trusted relationships with franchise partners, ensuring marketing strategies support both brand growth and restaurant-level success.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as operations, finance, and digital to deliver aligned business outcomes.
- Manage external partners and agencies to ensure high-quality delivery and strong return on marketing investment.
About You
Essential
- Proven senior marketing leadership experience within a franchised, multi-site business.
- Strong commercial accountability with demonstrated delivery of sales and transaction growth.
- Experience across brand, digital, customer lifecycle and integrated marketing strategy.
- Ability to influence CEO, executive stakeholders and franchise networks.
- Data-driven decision maker with strong ROI and budget management capability.
Desirable
- Experience in QSR, retail or hospitality environments.
- Background in menu innovation, product launches or value strategy.
