Design & Engineering
CPP has the largest in-house design and engineering team of any contractor in Australia, with over 190 specialists across Electrical Primary and Secondary, Civil, Structural, and SCADA disciplines. We provide end-to-end engineering solutions for high-voltage infrastructure, including nationally significant transmission projects, HV substations, wind farms and battery storage systems that drive Australia’s renewable energy transition.

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – SCADA to join our Melbourne Engineering team.
This role will see you working across a range of high-voltage transmission and renewable energy projects, delivering SCADA and communications system design from concept through to commissioning. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and clients to deliver high-quality technical outcomes across complex infrastructure projects.
The position offers the opportunity to be involved in all stages of project delivery, including system design, configuration, testing, commissioning support and technical leadership. You will also play an important role in mentoring and supporting engineers within the broader team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong SCADA professional looking to work on major utility and renewable energy projects within a collaborative and growing engineering business.
Skills and Experiences:
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have strong experience delivering SCADA and communications systems within transmission, substations or renewable energy projects.
You will also bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar
- Experience in SCADA and communications system design for utility or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of substation communications protocols and SCADA platforms
- Experience with factory and site testing and commissioning activities
- The ability to work collaboratively with clients, suppliers and internal project teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Previous experience working within Australian utilities, renewable energy projects or grid connection projects will be highly regarded.
