About the role
As a Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) you will work within the Occupational Therapy team to deliver high quality administrative support and clinical care to patients within the hand therapy stream. The role includes a range of non-clinical duties to support the provision of hand therapy (eg. actioning referrals, patient phone calls, appointment schedulng, stock ordering and general administration duties). You will be responsible for AHA student supervision and mentoring of junior AHA staff. The role may include provision of AHA support to the wider Occupational Therapy Department as required. You will receive suitable clinical support from our experienced and skilled clinicians.
The successful applicant will have suitable qualifications that meet the selection criteria, as well as ideally have employed experience working in a healthcare setting with patients.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care by managing a clinical caseload and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to service improvement by implementing clinical policies, maintaining accurate documentation and supporting quality and data improvement initiatives
- Build positive relationships with consumers, families and colleagues through professional communication, collaboration and culturally safe practice
- Demonstrate accountability by complying with professional standards, organisational policies, risk management and legislative requirements
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) with relevant clinical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a clinical setting, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and IT skills, with a commitment to inclusive and culturally safe practice.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice and continuous learning.
