About the Role
You'll run the workshop day-to-day. Our Production Manager sets the schedule and priorities — your job is to organise the team, manage workflow, maintain quality, and make sure jobs move through the factory as planned. You're responsible for what happens on the floor.
What You'll Be Doing
- Organise daily work, allocate jobs and resources, and keep projects moving through the workshop
- Run daily toolbox meetings — communicate priorities, deadlines and safety
- Lead, support and hold the team accountable for quality and productivity
- Train and mentor apprentices, and maintain a positive workshop culture
- Check work throughout production to catch issues before they become expensive problems
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and running efficiently
- Maintain safe work practices and report hazards early
- Work closely with the Production Manager — provide progress updates, flag delivery risks, and help plan labour requirements
What Success Looks Like
Jobs leave on time. The team knows what they're doing each day. Quality stays high and rework stays low. The workshop is organised, safe, and productive — and the Production Manager can rely on accurate information from the floor.
What You'll Bring
- Trade qualification in cabinetmaking, joinery, or a related field
- Proven experience leading a workshop team or crew
- A sharp eye for quality and an instinct for catching problems early
- Strong organisational skills — you can juggle multiple jobs without losing track
- Clear, confident communication with your team and management
- Experience in commercial fitout and/or high-end residential joinery highly regarded
What's On Offer
- A 4 day work week — 38 hours across 4 days, every week. Get a real day back for yourself.
- Pay commensurate with your experience and skills
- A stable, growing business with genuine opportunity to shape how the workshop runs
- Work across a varied mix of commercial and high-end residential projects
