Female Disability Support Worker – St Kilda VIC

A caring and reliable female Support Worker is required to provide personalised support to an adult participant in St Kilda, VIC. The role is suited to someone who is patient, respectful, approachable, and committed to supporting independence, wellbeing, and community participation.
Position Details
Location: St Kilda, VIC
Availability: Monday to Sunday
Shifts: Early morning and afternoon
Hours: Approximately 5–6 hours per day
Start: Immediate
About the Role
The successful Support Worker will assist the participant with personal care, daily routines, household tasks, social engagement, and community activities. A calm and respectful approach is essential, with a strong focus on maintaining dignity, choice, privacy, and independence.
Duties Include
- Assisting with personal care such as showering, dressing, grooming, and skincare.
- Supporting daily living activities and maintaining a comfortable routine.
- Preparing meals based on the participant’s preferences and requirements.
- Helping with light cleaning and household tasks.
- Providing transport and support for community activities, shopping, café visits, beach outings, recreational activities, and appointments.
- Offering companionship and encouraging positive social interaction.
- Supporting the participant to make their own choices and remain as independent as possible.
- Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.
- Responding calmly and appropriately to changing support and wellbeing needs.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in disability support, personal care, or community access.
- Genuine interest in providing person-centred and respectful support.
- Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to build a positive rapport.
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Reliable vehicle available for community access and participant transport.
- Female applicants preferred for this position.

The participant enjoys getting out into the community and appreciates activities such as coffee outings, shopping, visiting the beach, recreational activities, and socialising. A friendly and encouraging Support Worker who can provide gentle assistance while respecting personal choices would be an excellent fit for this role.
