We are a Suzuki and Stacer dealership seeking a skilled and reliable Marine Mechanic to work within our team in our clean modern workshop for service, diagnose and repair. In this role, you will work on a wide variety of vessels with duties that include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems both on and of site. The ideal candidate possesses a strong diagnostic mindset and a passion to ensuring quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot, test and diagnose mechanical, electrical and fuel faults in marine vessels.
- Engine Maintenance: Service, overhaul and repair of outboards engines
- Auxiliary Repairs: Fix and maintain marine hydraulic systems, steering mechanism
- Electrical Upgrades: Perform DC system electrical maintenance and install modern marine electronics, gauges bow thrusters etc.
- Sea Trials: Conduct operational tests and diagnostics on land and on water.
- Engines we service: We service a wide range of outboard engines but predominantly Suzuki outboards.
- Documentation: Maintain tidy, accurate service records and reports parts required for provurement.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Certifications: Trade qualification in Marine Mechanical Technology, Marine Engineering or equivalent automotive crossover experience.
- Technical Experience: Proven experience working with major marine OEM Brands (e.g. Suzuki, Mercury, Yamaha, etc).
- Experience Requirements: Minimum 3 years of marine mechanic experience required.
- Tool Competency: Proficiency using specialized marine diagnostic software alongside standard hand and power tools.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift objects required to complete tasks, bend into tight engine bays and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Licensing: Valid Queensland driver's license required relevant boating or forklift license are highly desirable.
- Safety First: Deep understanding of workshop safety protocols and marine environmental compliance regulations.

Pay: $79,500.00 – $90,000.00 per year
