Job Description
Floor Finisher
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, installing, repairing and finishing a range of resilient flooring and surface-covering materials, including rubber softfall systems, synthetic turf and recreational surfacing products. The role requires a strong focus on quality workmanship, safety and attention to detail.
Daily tasks include
- Measuring and marking installation areas and calculating quantities of surfacing materials required.
- Preparing and levelling sub-surfaces prior to the installation of rubber, synthetic turf, and resilient flooring products.
- Cutting and fitting floor and surface-covering materials to specifications and site plans.
- Installing and securing resilient flooring and synthetic surface materials using appropriate adhesives, binders, and fastening techniques.
- Repairing damaged sections of rubber, softfall, and synthetic surfaces and replacing defective materials as required.
- Conducting final inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and client specifications.
Requirements
1) Level of Required Qualification
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant industry experience that may substitute for formal qualifications.
2) Years of Experience
- Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in floor/surface finishing (softfall, wetpour, concrete, or resin flooring background considered)
3) Other Main Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and a steady, precise hand for finishing work
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on feet for extended periods
- Physically fit, capable of kneeling, bending, and manual handling
- Current driver's licence
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Annual salary: $79,423 to $85,000 + superannuation (38 hours per week)
Pay: $79,423.00 – $85,000.00 per year
