Run The Break is a growing basketball coaching business providing private coaching, team coaching and holiday programs to junior players across Melbourne.
We're looking for passionate basketball coaches to join our network of independent coaching contractors.
As the majority of our clients are located in Bayside (Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham, Mentone and surrounding), you should be willing and able to coach in the area.

About you
We're looking for coaches who:
- Have previous basketball coaching experience
- Enjoy working with children and junior players
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Are reliable, professional and punctual
- Can confidently plan and deliver engaging basketball sessions
- Are able to work independently
- Have a good understanding of basketball fundamentals and player development
- Are looking for flexible coaching opportunities alongside study, work or other commitments
Experience coaching junior basketball is highly desirable.
Qualifications & compliance
Successful coaches will be required to hold and provide evidence of relevant qualifications and checks, including:
- Victorian Working with Children Check
- Relevant Basketball Australia/Basketball Victoria coaching accreditation
- Completion of relevant child safety requirements
All required checks and documentation will be verified before coaching services commence.
How the arrangement works
Coaches are engaged as independent contractors on a session-by-session basis. Coaching opportunities are offered according to client demand and your availability, with no guaranteed minimum number of sessions.
You remain free to accept or decline individual coaching opportunities and may undertake coaching or other work for other organisations.
