THE ROLE:
Austrade is recruiting two Executive Officers – one for the Investment Division and one for the Strategy, Engagement Division. At Austrade, the Executive Officer works directly with and supports the General Manager (GM) of the Division. The Executive Officer holds a position of trust and applies sound judgement and exemplary levels of personal integrity, confidentiality, and discretion. They maintain close and professional working relationships with the Divisional Leadership team and key Austrade personnel, as well as working collaboratively with Executive Assistants (EAs) and staff within the Division
Duties Include:
- Providing high-level strategic advice and operational support to the GM and the broader Divisional Leadership team, on administrative, delivery and corporate matters. This includes leading on budget management, financial forecasting, risk management and HR processes.
- Preparing and reviewing information on a diverse and complex range of policy, planning and other operational issues, including Ministerial submissions and correspondence, where required.
- Tailoring strategic communications to engage across a diverse range of stakeholders on often complex and sensitive topics.
- Coordinating work coming through the GM’s office and monitoring work within the Division to ensure outcomes and deliverables are achieved.
- Working closely with EAs and Branch Heads in the Division to establish practices, procedures and tools that drive outcomes and support innovation, satisfaction, compliance and simplification.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships internally and externally and lead interaction with key stakeholders on behalf of the GM when required.
- Coordinating and preparing the Divisional Business plan and associated regular updates for the effective operation of the Division.
- Facilitating Divisional input into key programs of work, both internal and external, including corporate reporting requirements.
- Project management for the GM, including leading management of cross-divisional projects.
- Providing support on workforce matters, coordinating with People Branch and corporate functions to ensure the Division meets its responsibilities.
- Working with the Finance team and Branch Heads to manage and monitor budgets.
