Surf Life Saving Queensland is seeking passionate and qualified Lifeguards to supervise designated patrol areas, proactively manage beach and water safety risks, provide public safety advice, and respond to emergency situations with confidence and professionalism. What You’ll Do:
-
Monitor and patrol designated beach or lagoon areas.
- Establish and maintain safe bathing areas for the public.
- Identify and manage hazards to minimise risks.
- Respond to emergencies and perform rescues, first aid, and resuscitation when required.
- Maintain lifesaving skills and fitness standards.
- Complete incident reporting and operational documentation.
- Conduct equipment and vehicle checks to ensure operational readiness.
- Support community awareness and water safety education programs.
About You:
Essential
-
SLS Bronze Medallion and Certificate II in Public Safety (or equivalent)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
- Hold a current Working with Children Blue Card or have the ability to obtain
- Ability to successfully complete required beach or lagoon fitness testing
- Proof of identity and Australian work rights
- A genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing
- Calm and decisive under pressure
- Passionate about community safety
- Professional, reliable, and approachable
- Physically fit and capable of meeting operational requirements
- Ability to work rostered shifts during operational hours - 6am - 9pm, 7 days per week
