Position: Disability Support Worker – Female
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Female Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support to a participant in Ellenbrook, WA.
The participant lives with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and significant psychosocial conditions, including PTSD and agoraphobia. Her symptoms can change rapidly and unpredictably, requiring a calm, flexible, and supportive approach.
Key Support Needs
The participant may experience:
- Paralysis, seizures, or extreme fatigue without warning
- Sensitivity to noise, light, heat, and emotional stress
- Anxiety and feelings of being unsafe, particularly in unfamiliar environments or with unfamiliar people
- Challenges associated with trauma and agoraphobia
The successful candidate will be able to build trust gradually and provide a safe, predictable, respectful, and trauma-informed support environment.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Female and experienced in Disability Support
- Compassionate, patient, calm, and reliable
- Trauma-informed and respectful of personal boundaries
- Confident supporting participants with complex needs
- Able to respond calmly to changing or unpredictable situations
- Understanding of psychosocial disability and neurological conditions
- Experienced with FND, PTSD, seizures, or complex support needs is highly regarded
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Reliable and insured vehicle
- Previous Disability Support experience
