In this role, you'll:
Take responsibility for undertaking maintenance management of Aids to Navigation (AtoN) assets, marine related engineering projects, administering major maintenance contracts, providing inspection services and contributing to major projects across NSW waterways.
You will also:
- Design and manage comprehensive inspection programs for transport assets, ensuring they meet legislative requirements, policy obligations and customer expectations.
- Lead development maintenance service contracts scope and technical specifications and engage engineering consultants for project and maintenance work as needed.
- Work with our SAP-based Computerised Asset Maintenance Management System (EAM), including updating master data, analysing system information and training other users.
- Work closely with our Operations and Compliance teams and contractors to maintain safe passage for NSW boaters, even when working to tight timeframes.
- Support budget preparation and liaise with intergovernmental aids to navigation regulators on maintenance and operational matters.

About you
You'll have tertiary engineering qualifications and experience working in a maritime environment, with sound knowledge of Aids to Navigation assets, , Work health and safety requirement, contract administration, materials, inspection techniques and relevant environmental compliance.
You're well-versed in asset management standards and best practices, including ISO 55000, and understand how these support strategic planning, operational efficiency and compliance across asset lifecycles.
You're an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, building productive relationships with vendors, port authorities and other key external partners to deliver successful projects and programs.
You hold a valid driving license and have availability to travel across NSW Coastal line and River sides.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Rozelle. No costs, allowances, or exceptions to TfNSW vehicle policy will be provided in relation to travel to and from the Rozelle office to conduct the duties of the role. This position is classified as Maritime Officer – 15 ($162,721.00/annum plus super).
