Journey Early Learning is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our Gumdale team. Working 5 days per week, 35 hours per week , you’ll play an important role in preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for the children in our care, while supporting healthy and enjoyable mealtimes.
About the role:
As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll work alongside our kitchen and centre team to help provide healthy and enjoyable mealtimes for our children.
You’ll support food preparation, maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, and help ensure high standards of food safety are maintained throughout the day.
You’ll also have the opportunity to build positive relationships with children, educators and families and contribute to a welcoming centre environment.
About you:
You’re reliable, organised and enjoy working as part of a team. You take pride in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and have a genuine interest in supporting children’s health and wellbeing through nutritious food.
Key skills and requirements:
Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is desirable
A genuine passion for preparing healthy and nutritious food
Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliable, organised and able to manage daily kitchen tasks
Current Asthma, Anaphylaxis and First Aid Certificates, or willingness to obtain
