In the AO5 Advisor (Procurement) you will provide procurement and financial management support to the Branch. You will support the Principal Advisor (Procurement) in delivering high-quality procurement services, ensuring integrity, compliance and alignment with Chief Procurement Office and TMR policies. The role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and providing analysis and advice to inform decision-making.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver end-to-end procurement support for PRS Branch operations, including preparation of RFQs/ITOs, evaluation documentation, and coordination of procurement activities in accordance with departmental policies and governance requirements.
- Lead low to medium risk procurements under limited supervision and support higher risk procurement processes, contributing to market approaches, evaluations, probity requirements, and contract establishment activities.
- Undertake sourcing activities in line with procurement frameworks, including engaging suppliers, supporting clarifications and negotiations and assisting with contract administration to achieve value for money outcomes.
- Provide accurate and timely procurement advice to stakeholders, supporting business areas to navigate procurement requirements, processes and compliance obligations.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of procurement systems, financial data and records, including supporting reconciliations, monitoring transactions and ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Build effective stakeholder relationships and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements, supporting consistent procurement practices and promoting risk-aware and compliant outcomes.

Requirements of the role:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement or a related business support role, with an understanding of end-to-end procurement processes and the ability to manage low to medium risk activities in a structured, compliant manner.
- Sound knowledge of procurement policies, governance frameworks and financial controls with the ability to interpret and apply procedures to support compliant and defensible outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate documentation such as procurement records, briefs and correspondence.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders, providing practical advice and support while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, monitor transactions, identify discrepancies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
