Experienced Counsellor – Casual / Flexible Opportunity
We are a small, growing business looking to hire an experienced counsellor for 1 day per week or fortnight (to be negotiated).
The role would suit someone who already has another counselling role and is looking to add an additional day for some extra experience and income.
About the Role
The successful applicant will ideally have a minimum of 1–2 years’ experience specifically working with individuals, particularly clients experiencing:
- Depression and anxiety
- Suicidal ideation
- Emotional abuse and associated trauma
- Other complex mental health concerns
We would also consider a counselling graduate who is eager to learn, highly teachable, has a great attitude and is committed to developing their counselling skills. For the right graduate, we are happy to provide guidance, support and opportunities to continue building clinical experience.
You must be available to work in the office one day per week between Tuesday–Thursday, including after-hours availability.
The role will initially be offered on a casual basis for 3 months, with the possibility of extending the arrangement if successful.
There may also be the opportunity to undertake some remote/telehealth counselling work down the track, depending on suitability, client needs and the success of the initial arrangement.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Minimum 1–2 years’ relevant counselling experience (graduates with the right attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered)
- Training and experience in CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy and/or DBT
- ACA or PACFA registration
- Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- An ABN
Additional training, qualifications or areas of clinical expertise will be highly regarded.
