About the Position
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for planning, developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives that strengthen AFC's market presence, enhance brand awareness, and support sustainable organisational growth through strategic student recruitment and market development.
Working closely with senior management, the Marketing Specialist analyses market trends, consumer behaviour and campaign performance, develops integrated marketing strategies, identifies new business opportunities and builds strategic industry partnerships to enhance AFC's competitive position.
The role involves coordinating with admissions, administration, accounts and compliance teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining compliance with the Standards for RTOs, ESOS Framework, Australian Consumer Law, and contributing to AFC's continuous improvement culture.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan, develop, and implement marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and targeted promotional initiatives to promote AFC's Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to domestic and international students, supporting organisational growth and student recruitment objectives.
· Develop marketing objectives, campaign plans and business development initiatives aligned with AFC's strategic growth, brand positioning and market development goals.
· Contribute to achieving quarterly and annual student recruitment, marketing and business development KPIs through targeted marketing activities, education agent engagement, employer partnerships, referrals and other business development initiatives.
· Conduct market research and analyse consumer behaviour, student recruitment trends, competitor activities, industry developments and market trends to identify new business and market opportunities within the VET and ELICOS sectors.
· Analyse marketing campaign performance, customer insights, consumer behaviour and market intelligence to evaluate marketing effectiveness, identify emerging opportunities and provide evidence-based strategic marketing recommendations to senior management.
· Build and maintain B2B relationships with education agents, employers, industry partners and corporate clients to generate new business opportunities.
· Develop and manage marketing content for websites, social media platforms, email campaigns, digital advertising, promotional materials, and other communication channels. Create, schedule and publish engaging content that promotes AFC's courses, student success stories, events and industry partnerships while strengthening AFC's brand positioning, reputation and market presence.
· Represent AFC at education expos, networking events and industry forums to strengthen partnerships and promote the organisation.
· Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and promotional activities against agreed objectives, KPIs and return on investment (ROI), recommending improvements to optimise marketing performance and support continuous improvement.
· Contribute to the development and evaluation of promotional initiatives, promotional and pricing recommendations, and market positioning strategies that support organisational growth and student recruitment objectives.
· Ensure all marketing activities comply with the Standards for RTOs, ESOS Framework, Australian Consumer Law and AFC policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
· Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications, Management, or related discipline.
· Minimum one (1) year of experience in marketing, business development, advertising, student recruitment or strategic marketing, preferably within the Vocational Education and Training (VET), CRICOS or higher education sector.
· Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and evaluating marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
· Experience undertaking market research, analysing market trends and preparing reports to support strategic marketing decisions.
· Demonstrated ability to interpret market data and prepare reports to support evidence-based marketing decisions.
· Strong understanding of ESOS/National Code and RTO marketing compliance requirements.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service and administrative support.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Student Management Systems.
Desirable:
· Experience supporting international students or working within a multicultural environment.
· Experience with digital marketing, social media advertising, marketing analytics or marketing automation platforms.
· Experience with CRM systems and student lifecycle management.
· Multilingual skills and cross-cultural communication ability.
Other Information:
· This role requires flexibility to travel domestically and internationally and attend occasional weekend or after-hours events.
· The position is governed by AFC’s organisational policies, procedures, and all applicable legislation.
