About the role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Payroll Officer is based at our Head Office in Somersby on the Central Coast. This is an opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to own the end-to-end delivery of weekly, fortnightly and salary payrolls for our employees across Australia. The role is responsible for payroll operations, controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting and systems, as well as interpreting enterprise agreements, modern awards, legislation and individual employment arrangements. You will act as SPA’s day-to-day payroll subject matter expert, provide reliable advice to employees and managers, and identify opportunities to strengthen payroll accuracy, compliance and efficiency.

- Manage end-to-end payroll operations across SPA.
- Ensure compliance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislative requirements.
- Perform payroll reconciliations, reporting and statutory obligations.
- Support employee payroll lifecycle activities from onboarding to termination.
- Provide payroll expertise, stakeholder support and continuous process improvements.

What You'll Bring
- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a complex, multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation.
- Excellent payroll systems, reporting and reconciliation skills, with advanced Excel capability.
- High attention to detail and the ability to resolve payroll issues accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable
Payroll qualification or membership/accreditation with the Australian Payroll Association or TAPS.
Experience with Jobpac or a similar ERP/payroll system, SharePoint, and a construction, manufacturing, transport or other blue-collar, multi-EBA workforce.
