About the role
This role delivers specialist expertise to support spatial information needs in the delivery of Sydney Water’s Asset Management System (AMS) and Asset Information System (AIS). It contributes to achieving asset management objectives and the broader vision of creating better lives through world-class water services.
You will provide technical subject matter expertise in spatial data and analysis and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialist spatial advice and support to users through the asset information management service model.

Acquire, develop, and manage spatial data in line with enterprise information and data governance standards.

Ensure spatial data quality, accuracy, and integrity to support planning, operations, and decision-making.

Perform advanced spatial analysis and support integration and use of GIS tools and technologies.

Drive continuous improvement by developing tools, processes, and identifying opportunities for enhanced spatial services.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes, maintain standards, and meet SLAs/KPIs.
About you:
In addition to tertiary or trade qualifications in Spatial Sciences, or a related discipline, we are looking for:

Experience administering spatial applications, including automation and development of visualisation and insight products.

Strong capability in spatial data management, analysis, and use of GIS platforms (e.g. ArcGIS, MapInfo, FME, GE Smallworld).

Proficiency in SQL and programming fundamentals to support data analysis and solution development.

Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, develop queries, and deliver clear reports and insights.

Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse audiences.

Experience working with asset management data and presenting insights through dashboards, maps, and other visual formats.
