The Role
We are looking for an Enrolled Nurse to join our Gladswood Lodge residential aged care home in Brunswick West. This is a permanent part-time night duty role and would be a great opportunity for a recently registered Enrolled Nurse who is looking to build confidence in residential aged care while working alongside an experienced Registered Nurse.
This role will suit someone who is comfortable being hands-on with residents and supporting both clinical and personal care needs. While you will work within your EN scope of practice, the role will also involve a high level of direct resident care, including supporting Personal Care Workers and assisting with personal care tasks where required.
Permanent part-time roster line – 53.2 hours per fortnight
Week 1: Monday Night Duty, Tuesday Night Duty, Saturday Night Duty, Sunday Night Duty
Week 2: Monday Night Duty, Tuesday Night Duty, Sunday Night Duty
In this role, you will:
- Apply clinical skills and up-to-date knowledge of the ageing process to support residents within the home
- Work alongside the Registered Nurse on night duty to provide safe, person-centred care
- Support residents with personal care, comfort, dignity and emotional wellbeing overnight
- Assist with resident observations, escalation of changes in condition, documentation and care planning
- Support safe medication administration within EN scope of practice
- Be responsive to residents’ needs through holistic, individualised care
- Respect and promote dignity, privacy and confidentiality of each resident at all times
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, Personal Care Workers and the wider care team
- Spend time with residents to connect, provide reassurance and show empathy
About you
- Current Division 2 nursing registration with AHRPA
- Experience creating genuine connections with clients and families and team members
- Understanding of the aged care legislative framework and requirements, including safe medication administration
- The ability to show empathy and treat others with dignity and respect, and a collaborative approach to working with residents, staff, colleagues and other key stakeholders
- Demonstrate the application of clinical skills in areas such as tissue viability, continence management, dementia/behaviour management, infection control, amongst others
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance ID or ability to obtain
