What you’ll do
As an Assistant Category Manager, you will partner with the Category Manager to execute strategies that delight our customers, simplify store operations, and achieve key financial targets. Your primary focus will be driving our Energy Drinks ambition by leading a highly effective promotional program and events schedule that boosts sales, profit, and market share.
End-to-End Category Management: Drive the growth of the Drinks category by taking ownership of range reviews, precise forecasting, and comprehensive supplier planning.
Promotional Optimisation: Manage the frequency, depth, funding, and phasing of promotions, leveraging tactics like brochures and event spaces to deliver market-leading value.
Data-Driven Strategy: Analyse data and customer insights to ensure all promotional offers are customer-led and deliver a strong ROI.
Strategic Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure promotional funding and ensure executions align strictly with commercial KPIs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with internal stakeholders across Marketing, Online, Replenishment, and Promotions to successfully implement dynamic category plans.
What you’ll bring
Experience & Commercial Acumen: Previous experience as an Assistant Category Manager is highly preferred, paired with strong commercial awareness to successfully navigate the the role.
Negotiation & Influence: Proven negotiation and influencing skills to effectively manage supplier relationships and drive commercial outcomes.
Communication & Relationship Building: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a natural ability to foster strong interpersonal relationships across all levels.
Organisation & Technical Proficiency: Excellent time management and organisational abilities, backed by solid computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace.
Adaptability & Teamwork: A proactive willingness to learn, adapt swiftly to changing market conditions, and collaborate seamlessly with the wider team.
