Boarding House Staff are an integral part of the St Hilda’s School team which cares for the development of every girl. Each employee must have a genuine desire to work with adolescent girls who are living in an environment away from their homes. Our Boarding House staff have a warm, approachable, demeanour that makes people feel welcome. Empathy and patience come naturally to our staff, as well as tact, confidentiality and diplomacy when handling sensitive situations.
It is essential the successful applicant has a genuine desire to work with adolescent girls who are living in an environment away from their homes, and an ability to relate to adolescent girls.
Boarding House Supervisors
Various shifts available before and afterschool, as well as sleepover shifts (10.00pm – 6.30am).
Pastoral care and wellbeing – Providing day-to-day emotional, social, and welfare support to boarders, and identifying and responding to concerns
Safety and duty of care – Supervising students, conducting roll calls and checks, managing medication and medical responses, and ensuring compliance with child safety and mandatory reporting obligations
Routine and behaviour management – Overseeing daily schedules (meals, study, curfews) and enforcing house rules to maintain a positive, enjoyable and orderly living environment
Communication and administration – Liaising with Heads of Boarding, and maintaining accurate records regarding attendance, welfare, and leave.
Boarding Tutors
Mondays through Thursdays 5pm – 8pm (Year levels 5-12)
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated boarding team committed to fostering a strong sense of care, connection and community within the Boarding House.
We are seeking a warm, organised and proactive staff to join our Boarding House team and support the personal and academic development of our girls within a vibrant residential community.
