An exciting opportunity is available to join the Casual Pool for the Acute Care Mental Health Team at Sutherland Mental Health Service. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference during critical moments, providing support to individuals experiencing acute distress and crisis. This dynamic and highly rewarding position is well suited to a clinician who is motivated by purpose, values connection, and is eager to continue developing specialist skills in acute care. The role offers valuable hands-on experience within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that prioritises learning, support, and excellence in care.
Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and delivering evidence-based, person-centred acute mental health services in line with SESLHD policies, procedures, and standards. The role operates across a 7-day rotating roster, including morning and afternoon shifts with plenty of opportunities for casual shifts.
The position involves a diverse range of specialist interventions, including triage, comprehensive and risk assessments, clinical formulation, safety planning, brief psychoeducation, and collaborative discharge planning. Strong partnerships are fostered with consumers, families, and both internal and external stakeholders to ensure holistic, coordinated care.
