Casual Swim Teacher – Qualified or Training Provided
Dunstan Swim Schools is expanding, and we are looking for friendly, reliable people to join our teams in Wynnum and Carina.
We welcome applications from qualified swim teachers as well as people interested in becoming qualified. Whether you are seeking your first job, returning to the workforce, considering a career change or looking for rewarding work within your local community, we would love to hear from you.
No previous swim-teaching experience is necessary. Training and ongoing support will be provided to successful applicants, including support for applicants working towards an approved swim-teaching qualification.
About the role
As a casual swim teacher, you will:
- Deliver safe, engaging and age-appropriate swimming lessons
- Help children develop water confidence, swimming skills and essential water-safety knowledge
- Follow Dunstan Swim Schools’ lesson programs and safety procedures
- Communicate positively with swimmers, parents and other team members
- Assist with the safe setup and pack-up of lesson equipment
- Contribute to a welcoming, supportive and professional pool environment
Available shifts
Casual shifts are available across our Wynnum and Carina locations:
- Monday to Thursday afternoons
- Monday to Wednesday between 9:00 am and 2:45 pm
- Saturday mornings
Applicants do not need to be available for every shift. Please include your regular availability in your application.
About you
We are looking for applicants who:
- Are aged 16 years or older
- Enjoy working with children
- Are friendly, dependable and confident communicating with families
- Are willing to learn and receive feedback
- Can commit to regular weekly shifts during the school term
- Hold, or are willing to obtain, the necessary swim-teaching qualification and Blue Card
Qualified and experienced swim teachers are strongly encouraged to apply.
Pay and employment type
- Casual employment
- $17–$35 per hour plus superannuation
- The applicable rate will depend on junior or adult classification, qualifications and experience
- Training and ongoing support provided
