BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT ANALYST
As part of Saab Australia's Strategy Organisation, the Business Improvement Analyst supports the delivery of strategic and operational improvement initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes. Reporting to the Head of Business Improvement, the role works closely with the Business Improvement Team and stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities, perform root cause analysis, enable data-driven decisions, and help deliver sustainable uplift.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Support business improvement projects from discovery through to implementation
- Gather business requirements and create process documentation
- Contribute to root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
- Conduct process mapping, stakeholder interviews and business analysis activities
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, insights and improvement opportunities
- Develop performance measures, reports and business improvement artefacts
- Support the Business Improvement Team to build capability in business improvement methodologies.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role. Applicants must be flexible in meeting the needs of business, including face to face activities and in-office attendance.
Your skills and experience will include:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful insights
- Experience using Excel, Power BI or similar tools to analyse information and support decision-making
- Experience documenting processes, gathering requirements and solving business problems
- Exposure to business improvement, continuous improvement, operational excellence, project delivery or related activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds
- Curious, proactive and self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop
- Experience within Defence, manufacturing, engineering, software or other complex operational environments is highly regarded.
This role will suit someone who enjoys understanding how businesses operate and finding practical ways to improve performance. It is an improvement role, not a pure-play Business Analyst role. We welcome applicants with strong analytical capability and experience using data to solve problems, identify trends and support decision-making. Applicants may have gained experience through analysis-focused roles using tools such as Excel, Power BI, AI-enabled tools, reporting platforms, or other data and process improvement activities in manufacturing, engineering, software, Defence or other operational and technical environments. We are seeking someone with a positive attitude and strong learning agility, who can build productive relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Baseline level. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
